ABOUT.
Carla Parcianello is a professional dance artist from Italy,
now based in Belgium (Leuven).
She has an urban dance background, embracing performative-oriented style such as Waacking and footwork-based styles like UK Jazz Fusion and House Dance. She also studied rudiments of contemporary dance (Gaga, Flying Low and Butoh). During the years, she has been and still active in the ''urban dance battle'' community obtaining excellent results.
Since 2020, Carla constantly works on movement research by fusing her ''urban dance'' influences with contemporary dance languages and defining a personal dance vocabulary. At present, her interest revolves around the idea of ''Spontaneity'' and how to reach it in theatre and performing arts.
She started to run her own choreographic projects such as the solo performance ''I can't see my feet''' (2022), which has recently received support from Mestizo Arts Platform; and the duet "Ahwö'' with Claudia Quaglia. Ultimately, she is building the artistic and educational platform, "Jazz Flare" to spread contemporary jazz culture and set an inclusive space for performance artists with different backgrounds.
